Newsletter

The newsletter of the WGNRR is the main vehicle for the sharing and exchange of information throughout the network. It also provides a reference point for members and gives visibility to the network. It is published in English, Spanish, and as of 2001 also in French. Each newsletter attempts to cover a selection of relevant information and articles submitted to the office over a period of four months prior to the date of publication. Information comes in the form of newsletters from members or other groups or organizations, journals, articles from daily newspapers, letters, e-mail, messages or items from the internet, and articles written specifically for WGNRR. In addition, the newsletter:

• Identifies new developments and initiatives in the different regions on the issue of reproductive rights
• Informs about political and scientific developments in the field of reproduction and women's rights
• Circulates local or national information among an international audience
• Initiates and stimulates debates on the different issues surrounding reproductive rights, and thus facilitates discussions and clarifies ideas at an analytical level
• Provides news of scientific developments in the field of reproductive technologies and the implications for women
• Exchanges ideas on new initiatives and projects developed and undertaken by women's groups on the issues related to health and reproductive rights in different parts of the world
• Informs members about the activities of the coordination office
• Functions as an important public relations tool for funders and other related international agencies
